Question:
I am a dental hygienist and use an LED headlight attached to loupes (magnifying device) while treating patients. I recently read an article stating that the blue spectrum light produced by the LED headlight will damage my retinas`? Is this true?
Answer:
Using an LED light to illuminate the field where you are working should not pose a hazard. Staring for long periods of time into a high-intensity light source can damage the retina but that is not how you will be using this light.
