Will massaging the eyelid help the pupil contract after cataract surgery? My pupil had to be surgically dilated and will not contract at this point.

No, massage will not help at all. Time may help and that may mean 6 to 12 months. Sometimes the stretching of a small pupil to get it large enough to do the surgery can cause temporary and even permanent enlargement of the pupil opening.
