What is blood vessel growth in front of the eye called?
Answer:
There are many causes for the appearance of blood vessels on the surface of the eye. Pterygium (fleshy growths of tissue on the white of the eye) are a major cause. Any type of irritation as from allergy, infection, dry eyes or eyelid inflammation can cause the appearance of dilated blood vessels. Some people have prominent-appearing blood vessels making their eyes appear reddish.
