My 6-year-old granddaughter was born with a chorioretinal scar (an area of pigmentary change or excess tissue that is located on the inside surface of the eye), esotropia (when the eye(s) turn inward), and high myopia (nearsightedness) in both eyes. Her scar is in her left eye only. Is there any type of surgery to help improve vision besides glasses?
While it is unlikely that there is any surgery that would help improve your granddaughter's condition and vision, I would encourage a second opinion. While this may not result in a better outcome for your granddaughter, it will bring more peace of mind that all options have been explored.
