Why am I having a visual aberration after cataract surgery?
MAR 10, 2014
Question:
I had a Toric lens implant and now have the image of a soccer ball when I look at a light. It is near the center of my vision and makes reading difficult. Can you tell me why?
Answer:
You are having a visual aberration, but I am not sure why. I would have your doctor check to see that the orientation of the intraocular lens (IOL) axis is correct and that there is no swelling in the center of the retina. This could be a vitreous floater as well, but again, your doctor should be able to see this on dilated examination.
