Question:

I am a 50-year-old woman. I suddenly lost sight in my left eye and had a solid white light instead, which then began to pulsate. Within ten minutes it went away. What does this mean?

Answer:

Without a complete eye and retinal exam, it is difficult to say what this means. I would recommend a complete eye and retinal exam by an ophthalmologist or retina surgeon/specialist. This could be something as simple as an ophthalmic migraine, which goes away without any treatment, or it could be a serious retinal condition.
