Ask an Eye M.D. Answer Archive
Question:
When should you get your eyes checked?
Answer:
Babies and children should be checked by their pediatrician at least annually for eye abnormalities; and if abnormalities are found, the child should be examined by an Eye M.D. Adults should see their eye doctor whenever they experience blurred vision or other symptoms or malfunctions of their eyes. Depending upon the medical findings in the eyes, the doctor will recommend how frequently followup examination should be done. If you have never had a comprehensive eye exam, you should do that by age 40.
