Question:
First thing my husband does in the morning is turn on his laptop and check his email. I was told that, when we awake, we should increase light gradually in order to protect our eyes. Is it safe to turn on bright lights or computers as soon as we open our eyes right after sleeping?

Answer:
It does our eyes no harm to be exposed to a fully lighted room upon awakening, so your husband can safely check his e-mail the moment he gets out of bed.
