Question:
I have pink eye. Is it suppose to burn when you put the eye drops in?

Answer:
Most eye drops are formulated by the manufacturer to feel comfortable on instillation. They adjust pH, tonicity, etc., to the extent which they can. and still maintain the effectiveness of the product . Doctors don't want to annoy patients with treatments which are unpleasant. Nevertheless, some products feel better than others. In addition, sometimes the inflammation on the surface of the eye is so severe that nothing feels good.

Whenever you have an issue with a medication or treatment prescribed by your ophthalmologist or other physician, contact them at once to see of this is to be expected, and, if so, for how long, and discuss whether your condition may be worsening and what other options are open to you.
