Question:
What medication is in the shot that is given in your eye for macular degeneration?

Answer:
There are two medicines available on the market for injection into the eye. For the wet type of macular degneration: Avastin and Lucentis. Both of them consisit of a medicine that is an antibody against vascular endothelial growth factor, so they slow down or stop the growth of bad blood vesseld growing in the eye.
