Question:
I have bifocal transition eye glasses. Do I need to purchase some other type of sunglasses? Because they change with the light, I'm thinking I don't , is this true?
Answer:
Yes and no. Sunglasses offer protection from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays. However, even non -tinted eyeglass lenses often have ultraviolet protection built in. Transition lenses are a great option for those who would like one pair of glasses for sun use and indoors. However, transition lenses do not darken significantly in a car so if you want sunglasses that are effective for driving you will need a pair of glasses with a permanent tint.
