Question:
My wife was recently diagnosed with normotensive glaucoma. What are the chances that she won’t experience any sight loss as long as she caught it early and is on a eye treatment medication?

Answer:
Glaucoma is a chronic disease and requires a lifetime of careful monitoring and treatment. Finding the glaucoma early is enormously helpful, and the disease is much easier to treat when the damage is minimal. There is no guarantee that she will never have some vision loss, but with meticulous care and follow up, the chances of keeping the glaucoma under control are excellent.
