Question:
How do you measure right/left eye balance?

Answer:
To determine if a person's glasses or contact lens needs are balanced, it is necessary to make them aware of the images from both eyes at the same time.  This can be done by placing a prism in front of one eye to create double vision.  The lens power is then adjusted on one of the eyes until the images are of equal clarity (or blurriness).  Final adjustments are then made.
Your Eye M.D. can ensure that your eyes are balanced and tell you whether a new prescription may improve your visual function.
