  • Laser Pointer Danger

    Question:

Would you think the light from an interactive laser pointer used with white boards can be damaging for the (teacher's) eyes? Especially when the pointer is coming from the back of the classroom?

    Answer:

No, reflected light from a standard laser pointer cannot cause damage. However, there are some illegal laser pointers available over the internet that can be a problem. Be certain that the label of the laser pointer states the power is less than 5mW and never, ever, look directly into any laser device.
