NOV 12, 2013
Question:
If one has a capillary hemangioma located inside their upper left eyelid, is it possible to have it removed?
Answer:
Yes. It is possible to have capillary hemangiomas removed. Depending on the age of the patient and the size and location of the lesion, different modalities may be suggested. If the patient is an infant, topical or oral propranolol may be recommended to decrease the size of the lesion. For an adult, direct surgical excision may be recommended. One should make an appointment to see an oculoplastic surgeon to determine which intervention (if any) is appropriate.
