What Is Causing the Clouding of My Eyes?
FEB 21, 2014
Question:
I have clouding of both eyes and have been to a specialist; he says I have the very beginning of cataracts but that this should not cause the clouding I am having. What else could cause this?
Answer:
This is a broad question and there are many possible answers to explain this. Occasionally, a cataract’s effect on vision can be more severe for the patient than it looks to an ophthalmologist. I wonder if a brightness acuity test (BAT) was performed. Other conditions that must be considered are the health of the retina, macula, cornea, and the tear film layer. If your ophthalmologist was able to document a reduction of your vision and was also unable to explain why the reduction in vision has occurred, I would suggest getting a second opinion.
