Is There Only One Kind of Cataract?

Question:
Is there only one kind of cataract?
Answer:
Cataract is simply a clouding of the lens of the eye that sits behind the pupil. Cataracts can be due to such things as age (the majority) or trauma, and babies can even be born with a congenital type of cataract. We often grade them by how they look and where in the lens they occur—such as cortical, nuclear sclerotic, posterior subcapsular etc. However, the removal process is pretty much the same for all types.
