Question:
Can seasonal affective disorder (SAD) light therapy have any effect on multifocal lenses implanted after cataract surgery?
Answer:
The light would not damage the intraocular lens (IOL) or alter its focusing capabilities. But many patients with multifocal IOLs notice aberrations such as halos and glare, and I suppose that these might appear to be more apparent and troublesome during some forms of light therapy.
