Question:
Is it possible to get bifocals that include a prism to correct my double vision?
Answer:
Yes. Prisms can be added to an eyeglass prescription that includes a bifocal. The prism will be the same for both the distance part of the lens and the bifocal part of the lens. There is one issue here, however, and that is the prism will only correct the doubling at one portion of the lens; either far or near but not both. If the double vision is the same near and far, this would not be an issue. But for many, the double vision is different for near and far and for those folks, two eyeglasses might be needed for the two distances. Your ophthalmologist can work with the optician to best provide this for you.
