Can I wear contact lenses after a vitrectomy?
JUL 28, 2014
Question:
I had a vitrectomy (a surgery that removes the vitreous gel inside of the eye) two weeks ago. My air bubble seems to be gone. Can I wear my contact lens on that eye?
Answer:
Wearing a contact lens after vitrectomy surgery depends more on how the surface of the eye is healing than the status of the air bubble. Your surgeon can check your eye and let you know if it is safe to wear contacts.
