Is it possible to recover from PCV?
APR 14, 2014
Question:
I’ve been diagnosed with PCV (or Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy, a disease that features abnormal tissue growth in the back of the eye) on my right eye. is it possible to recover from this?
Answer:
PCV is a condition that may respond nicely to treatment with either injections of anti-VEGF medications, photodynamic therapy, or a combination of the two. After treatment, the “polyps” often regress, with fluid and blood drying up. This can affect your vision. However, most patients' vision will still be somewhat impaired even with the most successful response to treatment.
