Can I Strengthen My Retina?
JUL 16, 2014
Question:
I have already had one hole in my retina surgically repaired, and my doctor tells me I have very thin retinas. I know the signs to watch for, but is there anything I can do to improve the retina itself? I'm concerned about further issues as I age.
Answer:
Unfortunately, there is nothing one can do to diminish the chance of retinal holes or to strengthen the retina. The key is to see your doctor as soon as possible if you develop signs such as floaters, flashing lights, or loss of vision.
