Can Someone With Iritis Get Cataract Surgery?
MAR 10, 2014
Question:
Can cataract surgery be done when the eye is being treated for iritis? Are there any potential post-surgery complications?
Answer:
Yes it can, however there may be more complications. Generally, steroids prescribed before and after the surgery should reduce complications associated with inflammation. Often the steroids will need to be continued for longer than usual to confirm that the inflammation is not returning.
