Question:
How much bleeding in the sclera is normal after a Lucentis injection?
Answer:
Bleeding after an injection is variable. Usually there is mild to no bleeding. However, occasionally there can be significant bleeding. This is more common in people on blood thinners such as aspirin or coumadin. Such bleeding looks bad because it is highlighted against the white of the sclera, but usually there is no effect on the vision and it will clear in one to three weeks.
