I'm having very successful treatment at Duke Eye Center for wet macular degeneration in one eye and dry in the other. I saw a bulletin from PreserVison about a new formula with fish oil. Should I change from the formula I have used for about a year with beta-carotene?
You are fortunate to be receiving your care at such an outstanding institution. With regard to your PreserVision, I would not make any changes at this time. A large multicenter research study, the Age Related Eye Disease Study-Part 2, will be announcing the results of a large clinical trial later this spring. This study is looking at the optimal formula for treating dry AMD.
