Dr. Weingeist served as the Director of the Academy's Leadership Development Program from 2012 until 2016, and is a graduate of the LDP IV, class of 2002. Dr. Weingeist is a comprehensive ophthalmologist in private practice in Seattle, Washington.

He is a past president of the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (WAEPS), co-founder of the Washinton Eye Foundation (WEF), and has served as WAEPS Legislative Committee Chair for almost two decades.
